Positive Thinking.

Everyone has those days where they need a confidence boost, whether they like it or not.
Todays been a bit of a crappy image day- and so I thought I'd share with you
some of the ways that I help myself feel better. I suffer from very low self-esteem, as well
as being in recovery for an eating disorder. I'm not doing this post for people to feel sorry for
me, I'm doing it because I want to help others with issues like mine- or even people who
just feel pooey about how they look. Because, lets face it ladies- everyone has those days.

First of all, this image at the top never fails to help me! When I'm having one of
those days where I feel I need to be super slim to be beautiful, when in reality-
anyone is beautiful, any size, any shape, any race, and any gender. Looking at
others for inspiration really help me too. For instance, Louise from 'Sprinkle
of Glitter' shows that being curvy, is a good thing! As well as showing you how to flatter
your curves, she also gives you lots of advice on any bad body image. I just love her, she's gorgeous
and a real role model.

YOU are beautiful. And I am talking to you reading this post, you are. In your own way,
be yourself and don't give a damn what other people think (as hard as that may be!)
Who cares if you want to have bright pink hair, or who cares if you want to wear an
old vintage dress with a pair of trainers. You are YOU! Here is a quote I love, that's helped me
through recovery.

"Today you are you, that is truer than true,
there is noone alive, who is more youer that you.
- Dr Seuss"

Another thing is to talk to your friends and family. Most of the time, I feel I have no
friends, but when I actually sit down and think about it- I do, and they all care about
me, and offer brilliant advice (and helpful compliments) whenever you're having a bit
of a downer. But, one thing NOT to do, is start fishing around for compliments to make
yourself feel better. I mean, can you get any worse than posting pictures and statuses all over
social networking sites, saying 'I wish I was beautiful' or 'I'm so fat', because that is something
that won't help you, in the long run- it will make you feel worse. Also, people will eventually
get sick of you fishing around for them to say 'You look beautiful' or, 'don't be stupid, you're
so slim!'. Sorry, I'm kind of going into a rant now..

I know this post has literally absolutely nothing to do with beauty, or fashion- but
it's the kind of post, I personally like to read, and I hope you do too! I've found some
helpful quotes and pictures on the internet to help you feel better!

OOTD- H&M Cat Skirt.

Looking very goofy...
HEY GUYS!

I'm actually writing this post on Sunday, but you're seeing it on Tuesday- this is odd.
So yeah, today I thought I'd show you some old-ish outfit of the day pictures,
which include one of my FAVOURITE skirts.
It was love at first sight when I spotted this skirt in my local H&M, and I knew it
had to be in my wardrobe. Since then, I wear it pretty much all of the time,
as it's super comfy and easy to style.

In these rather awkward pictures, I am wearing the skirt teamed with a pretty blouse from
Primark (I just love primark) and I also like to wear it with band t-shirts, and any
white collared tops. Shoes wise, I find my Doc Marten boots look amazing
with this skirt, as they toughen the look up a bit and make you look a bit
edgier. I love it.

Rather annoyingly, the skirt isn't sold in H&M anymore, so it's not gonna be
easy to get your hands on.. I've spotted a couple of ebay sellers, so if you've
fell in love with it like I do- get bidding!

That's all for now guys- I'll see you tomorrow!

Halo Hair.

Hey Guys!!

SO today I thought I'd do a post on a hair tutorial that everyone's favourite
vlogger recently posted on her channel. I have never really been one to style my hair,
but ever since trying this simple method out, I've been converted, from non-hair
addict, to hair styling mad! Thanks a bunch Zoe!
Here was MY take on the cute, but simple halo braid. I love it!
It's really saying something that I of all people found her tutorial mega easy, so
If you haven't already, I would 10000% recommend you popping onto Zoe's
amazing channel, and giving her some love on this amazing tutorial!

I liked how the braids went in an ombre of colour, like my hair- I found that looked really
effective and pretty, resulting in lots of compliments on my hair!

If you liked this post, be sure to give it a like, and also follow my blog if
you aren't already, because I'm slowly but surely building a little
family of followers, and I'd love YOU (yes, you) to join us!!

Bye Guys!

This or That Tag.

Hey Guys!

Today I have a pretty old tag for you, as I've been mega busy today and am cut
short for time for a blog post, so I have been browsing for a good tag to do, and this interesting one
popped up!

Makeup:
Blush or Bronzer?       BLUSH. No doubt about it.
Lip gloss or Lipstick?   Definately lipstick, can't live without it.                                           Eye liner or Mascara?     Mascara. I look dead without this wonderful invention.
Foundation or Concealer?   Concealer, because my dark circles are more of an issue than bad skin...
Neutral or Colour eye shadow? This one depends.. I love neutral for everyday, but when I'm doing others' makeup, I like to be nice and bright.
Pressed or Loose eye shadows?  Definately pressed. I don't get on with loose eyeshadows... Yasmin + Loose eyeshadows = big mess!
Brushes or Sponges?    Brushes. Sponges don't blend very well in my experience.

Nails:
OPI or China Glaze?  As much as I love China Glaze, O.P.I has to be my favourite.
Long or Short?  In the middle. Really short nails look like toes, and really long ones are minging...
Acrylic or Natural? I do like having acrylics on, but I'd have to say I prefer natural nails.
Brights or Darks? Brights in Summer, and Darks in Winter.
Flower or No Flower? Flower. Why the hell not?

Body:
Perfume or Body Spray? Probably perfume, because the smell lasts longer.
Lotion or Body Butter?  Am I the only one who doesn't understand the difference? They're just the same to me.
Body Wash or Soap?  Body Wash. Soap is too drying.
Lush or other bath company?  Lush is the way forward!

Fashion:
Jeans or Sweat Pants? Neither, I hate wearing trousers.
Long sleeve or Short? I like long sleeved blouses, and short sleeved shirts.
Dresses or Skirts?  This is a hard one, but I wear skirts more often.
Stripes or Plaid?   Stripes don't really suit me, so I'd say Plaid (not that I wear it anyway)
Flip flops or Sandals?  Sandals, because Flip Flops just flip straight off my feet!
Scarves or Hats? I love a good hat.
Studs or Dangly earrings?  Not really an earrings person, so studs.
Necklaces or Bracelets?  I love them both, but I wear bracelets the most.
Heels or Flats?  Definately Flats... I just live in Doc Martens.
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots?   Aren't they just the same thing?
Jacket or Hoodie?   Jackets, because I don't want people thinking I'm some yob.
Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe?  I've never heard of Charlotte Russe, But I love Forever 21.
Abercombie or Hollister?   Probably Hollister, although not the things with huge, tacky slogans on them.

Hair:
Curly or Straight?   I'd have to say straight, because I have curly hair and I hate it.
Bun or Ponytail?  Both make me resemble a boy, but I'd pick a ponytail, to make me look a little less bald.
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips?  Ask me this question 5 years ago, and I would've said Butterfly Clips. But
now, I'd say bobby pins because they're just lifesavers.
Hair Spray or Gel?  Hair Spray.
Long or Short?    Personally I love long hair. (But not long, knotty locks...)
Light or Dark?   I long for light blonde hair...
Side Sweep Bangs or Full Bangs?   Side Sweep Bangs suit me a little better.
Up or Down? DOWN.
I tag;
and

Okay, so that was my rather random blog post, but it's a Sunday night, and
I'm bored, so at least it's given me something to do- and possibly something for you
guys to read!

Thanks for Reading, and I'll see you tomorrow,
Byeee xx

Super Saturday #1

Hey Guys!!

After seeing many people doing this post every Saturday, talking about something they loved-
I thought I'd begin to do it too!!

This week, I thought I would talk about my babies...My Doc Martens. I got them in October last year, after
so many months of contemplating whether I actually liked them or not...
My Mum on the other hand hated them with a passion, she told me that I'd look
like a golf club if I wore them. I decided to not listen to her opinion, and just go for it.

My Dad bought them for me on my birthday, and since I got them- I've lived in them. They are so
bloody comfy, and so versatile! I can literally wear them with every single outfit.
This winter I've been teaming them with tights and a skater skirt, but sadly soon, when it gets warmer,
I'm going to have to opt out of wearing these big clunky boots, and purchase a pair
of Doc Martens Shoes. They are basically cut of versions of the boots, which can be worn
with frilly socks in the warmer months. I think that they are calling my name...

March 2014 Wish List.

Hey Guys!

I have never been happier than this morning, when I woke up to 20 followers on BlogLovin! I can't thank you all enough, and I love each and everyone of you- I hope you will stay with me on my journey :)

So anyway, today I thought I would post my current wishlist! My wishlists are alwayyyyys NEVER ending, which can mean that I am often short on money.
But... Make-up + Clothes = Happy Yasmin!

1- MAC 'Heroine'
My best friend bought this when we were out shopping, and
I really am so jealous because it's really a true purple
and it looks amazing, so I NEED this lipstick in my life please.

2- The Body Shop Honey bronzer
EVERYONE talks about this (essie button, lily pebbles, velvet gh0st..) so I've decided
that I need this in my collection. I'm not usually a bronzer person, because I find
them to orange on my fair skin, but apparently this is a 'fair skin friendly' bronzer!

3- MAC Mineralise skin-finish 'Soft and Gentle'
After hearing Velvet Gh0st go on about this in her videos, saying it was the most perfect
highlight, I've been sold. I've been looking for a nice natural highlighter, and I think this
may be the one for me, as it can also double up as a blush on pale ladies.

4- MAC 'Painterly' paint pot
I've wanted this for too long now, It's not even fair. Basically, people use it as a
base for eyeshadow rather than a primer- and it also cancels out any redness and
nasty looking veins on your eyelids. It's rather steep price-tag of £18 has really been
putting me off, but It's time too bite the bullet and buy it!

5- Inglot Palette
Having heard many positive reviews on the inglot palettes, I have had my eye on them
for around a year now, however I've been put off buying one as I have quite
a vast eyeshadow collection already. But, apparently these babies are as pigmented and smooth
as the likes of cult MAC and Urban Decay shadows. I think I need to try it.

6- Listography Book
Bit of a random one here, but I have wanted this for a long while after spotting it whilst browsing Urban
Outfitters last year. As a person who loves making lists, this book is essential for me,
and there is also a 'future listography' book, where you can make lists on your future.
Is it just me that finds these books highly exciting? I should really put that make-up back I always pick up
in Boots that I don't really need, and get this instead. However, remembering that whilst
frantically trying to choose what you want in 3 for 2 is a challenge.

7- Pink Dragonfruit yankee candle
If you didn't know, I'm a big lover of candles. Especially yankee candles. I actually put this
on my christmas list, but didn't receive it, so I'm still trying to bring myself to buy
it as this scent will be perfect as it's nearing spring. I love floral and fruity scents, so this one
is a big love of mine.

8- Nars 'Albatross'
2 highlighting products in ONE month? I know, I know. I guess that's something that
proves I'm a make-up hoarder. Albatross is a classic, and I've been wishing for it for ages!
It is more of a sparkly highlight, that's perfect for more 'out there' make-up
(which you know I love) and I really need to get my hands on this too!

So, there we have my wishlist as of March. Hopefully, I won't end up in debt
from these, but I really have my fingers crossed some money will tide
over for me to purchase these beauties with.
That's all for today lovelies!!

Byeee! x

07 March 2014

It's a checkered shirt kinda' day...

 HEY YOU GUYS!!

Please excuse my Mum's awful photography..

Today I woke up and really felt like blogging, so I got all dressed up and did a little bit of a photo-shoot.
As you can see, my Mum wasn't really blessed with the best skills in taking photos,
her hands just shake and she can't really take a good shot for the life of her... bless.
Anyway, this post is a little bit random, it's a bit of a OOTD and FOTD and a kind of sum up of my day.

OOTD-

Let's start with my OOTD. I love this outfit. It's just so casual but yet nice and it's very me! I love how th shirt and the big boots toughen up the girly skirt and makeup. It's really nice for just everyday, today I wore it to go shopping- and it is mega comfy! Especially my beloved Docs!

Please do excuse my gormless face and all that, but if you couldn't already tell,
I'm new to this FOTD and blogging lark, and hopefully I will develop in  my photo skills
and to look less gormless and goofy in my makeup pictures!

So, I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I have worn on my face today and my outfit- today I went into my town centre to do a spot of shopping.

very very soon! Keep your eyes peeled lovelies!!
