Monthly Favourites - August.

Hello my lovely readers,
I am so so sorry about the lack of posts this week - I have been majorly busy at the moment, with preparing to start college and everything.
Anyhow, I am back as I finally have some time to sit down and do some blogging!

So today I have my first monthly favourites post which is super exciting, as I have been planning this one for a while now, so enjoy!

Beauty-

MAC Lipstick in 'Whirl'
If you follow me over on my instagram- this month you will have probably heard me mention this many a time since I bought it earlier this month. This swatch really does NOT do this beautiful shade any justice, as it is so wearable and just overall a new favourite of mine. This came out at the start of the month as part of a new permanant collection full of mattes. If you're looking to buy one of those, this little beauty would be my recommendation.

Zoella 'Blissful Mistful' Body Spray
This was mentioned a few weeks ago on one of my weekly favourite posts, and I thought this pretty little scent deserved a place in my monthly favourites. I'm not going to go into much detail as I have raved about this previously, but all I can say is that I LOVE this spray. A LOT.

Sugarpill 'Sparkle Baby' Palette-
Again, if you follow my instagram, you will have seen this palette pop up ALOT in this past month I just cannot keep my paws off these irresistable shades. My favourite of the minute has to be 'Candy Crush' as it is pretty similar to my hair colour. Also it makes your eyes pop when dabbed in your inner corners. This palette is a must-have for any bright make-up lover.

Lush 'FUN'-
You've probably been wondering what that little colourful mess is in the group picture, and that my friends is one of my new discoveries. Now I know this stuff has been around for a while now, but I haven't yet had the chance to sample it out. I was kindly given some recently, and I have been converted! The amount of things you can do with these rolls of colour is pretty impressive. For me, my favourite is the pink fun, which smells of sweeties. If you haven't tried these yet, get yourself to Lush like, right now.

Soap and Glory 'Solar Powder'-
I have had this in my collection for a good year now, but have never reached for it. However, when my beloved NYX blush in 'taupe' ran out, I was left to use this. At first I wasn't too impressed, but over time it has became my favourite for contouring. The matte brown shade is the perfect shade to fake some cheekbones, without my face lookng muddy. This is a contour powder worth having for all pale girls/boys out there!

Fashion-

Sparkly Black Converse-
Yet again another thing featured in another one of my posts, but I guess this shows just how much I love these shoes. Since receiving them as a gift from my bestie earlier this month, there has rarely been a day when I haven't had them on my trotters. So simple, yet elegant. (PLUS they're mega comfy.)

Jewellery (in general)-
So I know this really isn't specific at all, but this past month I have really rekindled my love for jewellery and accessorising. Necklaces have been my current favourites, and I have whipped out my old favourite 'Alice in Wonderland' one, as well as my sun choker. I a;lso recently purchased this beautiful safari animal necklace from Topshop. I can't seem to stop myself from buying them, so it looks like I am now turning into a jewellery addict.

Music-

Green Day - American Idiot (album)
I used to be in LOVE with this album back in day, but I have recently rediscovered it and have had it on repeat lots and lots. My current favourite from this album is 'Give Me Novacaine/She's a Rebel' as it's like two kickass songs mixed into one. Great band, and this is their best album too.

MO - Preach
Yet again another track that's been mentioned a few times this month, as it's been played non stop. It's what I like to call my 'diva' song, and whenever I'm getting ready in a morning - I like to have a jam out to this song. The lyrics really are fabulous, and certainly give you something to 'preach' about!

The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face
This song is my soundtrack of the summer. The Weeknd have come out of nowhere and have just smashed it. I've been listening to most of their songs, but this is the one I seem to play the most. So catchy, and despite the extremely random lyrics - I love it.

Kelly Clarkson - Invincible
I know this song is pretty cheesy, but to me the lyrics are pretty relevant to me, and I can really relate to them. This is one of those songs I like to belt out in the shower, even if it does annoy my family. Singing it out at the top of your lungs seems to get any emotions out. In short, this is just a beautiful song.

Colouring in-
As most of you already now, colouring is my favourite distraction and one of my favourite past-times.  I have a subscription to the Art Therapy magazine, and I can honestly say it was worth every single penny as I am always colouring away. It's so relaxing and can just help keep your mind away from any bad thoughts, or anything that's worrying you.

SO that is my monthly favourites over and done with until next month!
I hope you have all had a lovely month, and all of those who are going back to school/college/university next month - keep focused and determined!

Until next time,
Lots of love and sparkles,
Yasmin xx

Top 5 Lipsticks | Drugstore Edition

Hello my lovelies!
It's that time of the day again where I listen to music and do some blogging for you guys.
Today I have lined up my 5 favourite drugstore lipsticks/lip products. I figured I would do this as a little series , so keep your eyes peeled for more!

1- Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers in 'Depravity' and 'Black Heart'
SO, these aren't exactly lipsticks, but they are in on the new trend of 'liquid lipsticks'. I got these around 5 months ago, and they're just fabulous. For the cheap price you pay for Makeup Revolution, these little beauties are 100% worth every penny! I would consider them as a little bit of a dupe for the Jeffrey Star liquid lipsticks, as they have a similar consistency and staying power. Once these are on your lips, they won't budge. This makes them perfect for days where you don't have the time to keep topping up your lippy. PLUS if that wasn't enough, they can also be used as a very alternative and pretty eyeliner.

2- Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in '107'
I have loved this line of lipsticks ever since they launched. I do own the whole collection, but this beautiful autumnal shade is my favourite of the lot. Zoella often wears this too, it's a little hidden gem in the Rimmel makeup stands. If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful lipstick in the classic berry red, then look no further than this little beauty! Not only is it pretty to look at, but it also has great staying power and doesn't dry out your lips. If this was in disguise - you would expect it to be a high-end lipstick with the quality it has.

3- Makeup Revolution Atomic Lipstick in 'Serpent'
Are you noticing a pattern here? Makeup Revolution is up there with the best drugstore brands, despite it's very low prices! Their lipsticks are only £1 a pop, and come in a whole assortment of colours! From my favourite deep green (ALSO a much cheaper dupe for Lime Crime's 'Serpentine') to a bright yellow lipstick, they really have it all. I'd say that they're like a cheaper younger sister of Illamasqua. This lipstick is certainly not for the faint hearted, but I LOVE this little treasure.

4- Collection Cream Puff in 'Fairy Cake'
Again, I have loved these little pretties since they launched, my favourites being the two pink shades ('fairy cake' and 'cotton candy') . They have fabulous staying power, and can last on your lips for a long time considering the ultra cheap price! You could miss out on your morning coffee for this little gem.
The only downside for me to these is the scent. Many people love it, but for me it smells too sickly sweet and it puts me off. Smells aside, this is a little bargain worth buying.

5- Revlon Matte Balm in 'Shameless' and 'Elusive'
Last but certainly not least, is these little pencils of fabness! I can't seem to capture the true beauty of Shameless on my camera, as it is showng as a deep purple, when it is really a very bright and vibrant purple shade. Anyway, these two little chubby sticks are some of my all time favourite lip products, as they are easy to apply, have great consistency and pigmentation and also last a long time on the lips. Revlon is at the higher end of the drugstore brands, but splashing out £8 on one of these is totally worth it. They smell of mint too, leaving a very refreshing feel to your pout.

Swatches-
L-R; Makeup Rev 'Black Heart' and 'Depravity', Revlon 'Elusive' and 'Shameless', Collection 'fairy cake', Makeup Rev 'Serpent', Rimmel '107'.

SO, that's all for today my lovely readers, I hope that you have enjoyed the first in my mini series, I will try my best to post one of these every Monday for you guys. Next week will be my favourite High End lipsticks (I'll try my best not to keep it all MAC!) for all of you people wanting to splurge on a more luxe lipstick.

I hope you've all had a lovely Monday, and I shall see you all tomorrow.

Lots of Love and sparkles,
Yasmin xx

Sunday Summary #2

The time is here again where I sumarise up my week for all of you lovely people.
This week I have been pretty busy, but there aren't many pictures to show for it!

Sorry to my lovelies for posting pictures of them on here without your permission!! This week I had a really cute sleepover with my best ones, which involved lots of heart to hearts, karaoke and food!
It had been a while since we did something together, so it was super lovely to spend some time with these little stars!  The day after, we went to Meadowhall for some retail therapy - here is a picture of me and Natalie in a hugeeee deckchair which we totally got stuck in...
You can't walk past a giant deckchair without getting a picture can you? It's a must!!

I woke up one day this week to find my cat fast asleep on my little telephone table! He looks so sweet and innocent curled up like that, but when he's awake - he's always causing mischief!

On Saturday my sister and I took a day trip into Leeds for lots of coffe breaks, shopping and laughs! I had such a lovely day in one of my favourite cities, and it also gave me chance to pick up two of the new MAC lipsticks from their matte collection. Keep your eyes peeled for a post about them!

This week I have been a little more experimental with my makeup looks - my favourite by far was my fairy inspired makeup using my beloved Sugarpill 'Sparkle Baby' eyeshadow palette. It made me feel so girly and colourful.

SO that's all for this week, it's been pretty good but I am hoping next week will be even better!
There won't be another post today I am afraid, as i'm pretty tired out from my hectic week tonight. However, do keep your eyes open for my blog post coming to you tomorrow!

I'll love you and leave you with my favourite quote of the week as usual...

Lots of love and sparkles,
Yasmin xx

Things I've Been Loving This Week #2

Hello lovelies!
First of all - sorry for todays post being pretty late, I have been out all day and have been super busy.
I promised I would do this post every Saturday, so here I am with my favourite things of the week...

Makeup-
SO here is all of my top beauty picks of this week...

MAC lipstick in 'Media'
One of my favourite lipsticks ever has finally made a comeback this week and I couldn't be happier! I know it's the middle of August - but that won't stop me from whipping out my vampy lipsticks. Medua is easily my favourite lipstick of choice whenever I'm fancying a dark lip without going quite as dark as Cyber.
Collection eyeshadow pencil in 'Vanilla Sky
I've had this little pencil for around 2 years now, and I rediscovered it this week. It makes a beautiful inner corner highlight and also can double as a super pretty cheek highlight too! I have certainly rekindled my love for this little hidden treasure.

Garnier Ultimate Blends 'the strength restorer' Shampoo and Conditioner
If you couldn't already notice from my photos that my hair is currently in terrible condition, I have been on the hunt for a good shampoo and conditioner to help strengthen and heal my dead hair. I came across these little saviours at my friends house, and since using them together - I have noticed a HUGE difference in my hair. It is stronger, softer and much shinier. A massive thank you to Garnier for helping my hair restore itself!

Fashion-

My first favourite of this week is this handy little bag. I picked this up in a local charity shop a while back now, and quite recently it is becoming a staple bag of mine. It is so easy too wear alongside pretty much any outfit, and is also big enough to fit my essentials in, without being too big and bulky. I love this bag to bits.

How beautiful are these shoes?
My little star of a best friend brought me back an array of gifts from her holiday last week, and these little lovelies are one of them. They are so comfy, and very sparkly (basically VERY me) and also will be perfect for me when I start college next month! They're currently my shoe of choice, loving them lots and lots too.

Music-

'How Deep is your Love?' - Calvin Harris
I love a bit of dance music, and Calvin has always been my guilty pleasure. This is my current getting ready song,  I love dancing around my bedroom to this chart-topper! Also, house music is actually beginning to grow on me...

'The Hills' - The Weeknd
Again, here is another dance song I've had on repeat. This one is so catchy and I'm actually really loving The Weeknd at the moment. It's definately not my usual choice of music, but I am loving it.

'Finale (Don't feed the plants) - Little Shop Of Horrors
This isn't really a favourite from choice, but if you didn't know i am currently rehearsing for a production of this musical, and this week we have listened and ran through this song so many times that it is pretty much always playing in my head...

Random-

Please do excuse my awful photography and lighting, but this week I have turned my wall into a little inspiration board. It took hours of sticking them up, but I am chuffed with the outcome. Sitting at my desk is a little less boring with all of these bright quotes surrounding me!

SO, that's the end of my weekly favourites, I hope you haven't been bored to death!
Just to end it, I thought i'd just share a little insight into my lovely shopping trip with my sister today. I picked up a couple of the new MAC matte lipsticks, and so far so good... I am in love.
For daily updates, you can add my snapchat (yasminineson) for more little snaps and snippets into my pretty boring life.

See you tomorrow my loves!
Lots of love and sparkles,
Yasmin xx

The Best Eyeshadow Palette Ever?

Hello my lovely readers- sorry I haven't posted in a few days, i've actually been pretty busy for a change! Anyway, it's not 7pm and I've finally got some time to do some blogging! YAY!

SO todays post is basically my opinion. I'm not saying that this beauty IS the best eyeshadow palette in the world, but to me - I struggle to find anything better than this.
Urban Decay have recently released their latest palette in the famous 'Naked' range, which has introduced the world to natural eyeshadows. Since I have no money to purchase the Naked Smoked palette (which looks bloody amazing!) I thought I would just do a little post about my favourite natural eyeshadwow to date.

Just look at the beauty of it. There is not one shadow in this palette that I don't love, or use. Obviously the more darker shades such as 'Creep' and 'Gunmetal' don't get as much use as my favourite mattes for a day time ('Naked' and 'Buck')  but they all do get dipped into every so often and the looks you can create with this one palette are endless. From a natural golden eye, to a deep smokey eye - this palette does pretty much anything and everything a girl wearing natural eyeshadows could ever want.
Top-Bottom; Gunmetal, Creep, Hustle, Toasted, Darkhorse, Smog, Half Baked, Buck, Sidecar, Naked, Sin & Virgin.

For the last part of the post, I thought that I would show you my swatches. Admittedly - I literally only just got time to take these and it is pretty dark so these pictures do not show enough justice. If I had to pick my favourite shade from the whole palette it would probably have to be the lovely 'Sidecar' because I use this pretty much everyday! It just leaves such a beautiful shimmer, and it is so creamy that it almost feels like a cream eyeshadow.

So, if you have been toying with the idea of buying this cult classic - then I would highly recommend that you don't think twice and get out there and buy it. I can probably guarantee that you will fall in love. There's a colour in this palette for everyone.

That's all for today, my lovelies - but I will be posting again tomorrow night for you all.
I hope that you all have had a lovely week, and that you have a fabulous weekend too!
Keep smiling and 'shine on you crazy diamond'

Lots of love and sparkles,
Yasmin xx

Dying My Hair...

Hello lovelies!
Today's post is pretty boring to most of you, but to me - I am mega excited. I just love it when the time comes to refresh my colour, the whole new freshly dyed hair is just one of the best feelings. Going out to buy the dyes is also pretty exciting for me (is that just me, or?)

SO, my colour of choice this time is my favourite, green. I  was quite limited to what I could have as my hair is in pretty bad condition at the moment, so I could only bleach my roots - therefore the colour needed to go over my current shade of minty green.
This post is just a little insight into how I do my hair, for all of you wanting to know.
My hair before the dye...
I hope you guys realise the embarrasment I am having to face by this post... I mean, just look at those roots! They're the absolute bane of my life, but they seem to spring out of the blue so quickly!
This is the bleach I use usually each time I dye my hair, as I find it gives really good, and quick results. Also, it doesn't contain any ammonia, and is made from natural ingredients. It gets a big thumbs up from me! You can buy this in most Superdrug stores, for £5 which is a total bargain.
How I bleach my hair...
PLEASE excuse the awfull photo...
Anyway, as you can probably see - I don't do my own hair. My good old Mamma does it for me, and I must say she does a good job. So, since I didn't need to bleach my hair all over, she just applied it to the roots, using tinting brushes. It took her quite a while to ensure that it had been applied everywhere, as this is crucial so you don't have any unsightly patches! (Also, if you're bleaching the whole of your hair, do be carfeul not to do it too often, as my hair is terrible at the moment due to excess bleaching.)
Once you're happy that you've got to each area, you need to put a plastic bag over your hair. You may not want to leave the house or send a Snapchat to your crush, but it helps the hair take the dye better.

SO once you've left that on to develop (DO NOT EXCEED 60 MINS!) you then need to take your hair out of the bag, and give it a good ol' brush.  However, you do need to be gentle and don't tug too much as your hair will be fragile. Your hair should then begin to look as atractive as mine does here...
After that, move onto the next step ( and also the best one..)

Applying the Colour...
When it comes to coloured dyes, in my opinion you cannot get any better than Directions. It's been around for years, and you can always depend on these trusty little pots of joy and colour. You can buy these in most little beauty shops, I get mine from a little shop in Doncaster called Xtras, where each pot is £3.99. When dying my hair green, I ALWAYS go for my fave, which is 'Spring Green', it looks like a grungy dark green in the pot, but once applied on the hair, it goes neon. It is truly beautiful. If you're not really wanting to resemble a Christmas Tree, then Directions also offer lots more colours, from pastel pinks, to bright oranges.

ENOUGH of the blabbering- I (well my mum, does actually..) apply the colour straight from the pot onto my hair using a tinting brush (NOT THE SAME ONE AS YOU USED EARLIER ) making sure you use lots of dye, don't be sparing with the colour, unless you want to be as patchy as a patchwork quilt!
Once that's applied you need to leave it on for precisely 15 minutes.
Now is the exciting part guys! You get to wash it off and see the water run your desired colour!
Here is my hair afterwards (however, it is still wet - so the colour will probably alter slightly.)
Whenever I have green hair, I feel like a little alien, although it's much like marmite. You either love it or hate it. My sister hates it, and says I resemble a bogey! I won't even repeat what I said to her on here.

SO, there was my pretty boring little post showing you how I dye my hair, featuring lots of pretty unflattering photos! I hope that I might give you some inspiration to go out and be bold, and maybe even dye your own hair a crazy colour!

See you tomorrow my lovelies,
and never be afraid to be unique, it adds something new to the world that wasn't there before.

Lots of Love and Sparkles,
Yasmin xx

Sunday Summary #1

My second post of the day - I have well and truly caught the blogging bug again!
Here is another post that I'm hoping to repeat weekly on here, just as a little insight into my life.

This week I haven't been majorly busy but I have got some snaps from the week...
My Dad and Stepmum came over one night last week, where we spent a lovely few hours playing boules on Lakeside. It was beautiful and made it feel like it was truly summer. Speaking of summer, I have had two bbq's this week, my first ones in recovery. It was initially scary, but I perservered and it was a lovely meal.
Last weekend, I went on a mini camping trip with my Mum and Stepdad for the night, as well as visiting seaside towns Mablethorpe and Skegness. The campsite we stayed at was truly beautiful, and I would definately recommend it - see the website here (www.coastfieldleisureltd.co.uk - We stayed at the Grange Leisure Park)
My beautiful dog, Fred turned 12 on the 3rd He loves birthdays, and always seems to know when it is. Here he is with his new chewy toy and his little card. Over on my instagram you can see the video of him getting his birthday cake!
I also spent some time with my good friend, including lots of singing and laughing. We have been close since we were around 11, so I just love to spend time with my lovely, especially as we have so much in common.
Lastly, my bestie returned home from her holiday on Friday, and it felt like I hadn't seen her in forever (it was actually 10 days..) Going from seeing her pretty much daily, to none at all, was pretty rubbish.
The worst thing about her coming back from Turkey is the embarrasing difference in our skin tones. Especially as I thought that I had caught the sun too! I look like an actual milk bottle... maybe it's time to slap on some fake tan (i'm joking, of course!)
Whilst we were out we got excited over these yummy looking chickpea "crisps" in Marks and Spencers - I need to get myself some of these. As a lover of chickpeas, these would make a perfect snack!

Lastly, I'll leave you with my favourite quote of the week, this is one I found browsing on facebook.

So, my lovelies - get out there and enjoy the week! Keep smiling and do something that scares you everyday. It'll be worth it.

Lots of Love and Sparkles
Yasmin xx

Sweet as Sugarpill

Hello my lovely readers!
Today I have two very lovely posts in store for you, how lucky you guys are.
My first post is going to be my Sugarpill Cosmetics collection, (if that wasn't already obvious from the title!)
And I hope you enjoy this kind of post, also please excuse the awful swatches...I'll get better, I promise.

If I had to pick one of my favourite makeup brands, it would without a doubt, be Sugarpill. It is pretty tricky to get hold of at the minute in the UK, as it doesn't get the appreciation it deserves over here. The brand is becoming quite big in the cosmetics industry, but stores in England have yet to sell them. Another reason I have so much love for them is the fact that they're cruelty free, with me being a veggie and an animal lover - this is a huge bonus for me!

Their prices are very reasonable and most certainly worthy for the quality of product you receive. I was a little apprehensive about ordering them at first, but as soon as they arrived through my door - it was love at first swatch.

The first of my four palettes is the 'Cold Chemistry' palette, which I actually bought over the app 'Depop'. Out of all of the palettes, I would say that this is the one I reach to the least, as it's not very often that I delve into dark smokey eyes. Although, I should use these little treasures more often, as they apply like a dream - only needing a tiny bit too receive a brlilliant colour payoff. 'Diamond Eyes' is the loveliest sparkly white shade, which I cannot seem to capture the true beauty of.

The most vibrant and colourful of the four, are these two studs. On the left, we have 'Sweetheart' which inludes the most beautiful shade of green, 'Midori' and the cult classic 'Dollipop' pink. The other palette is 'Burning Heart', which is my favourite of the two, as it includes the fiery colours which I used to create 'sunset' eyes, which you can see over on my instagram. The vibrant yellow, 'Buttercupcake' is the best colour payoff you can probably find for a yellow eyeshadow, as well as it's contrasting purple shade 'Poison Plum'. If you're looking at delving into using more colour in your eye looks, I would skip the cheap shadows, and go straight to these babies. They keep the colour, and last all day long.

Before I show you my favourite palette EVER (I think) I thought I would just show you my little single shadow from Sugarpill. This stunner is the Limited Edition shade in '@#$%!'. It is the most gorgeous sparkly reddy-pink shade, that's true beauty just cannot be captured on camera. When on the eyes, it glistens in the light - it's a treasure, and I love it to bits.

Okay, so after that build-up, here we have my absolute favourite - the 'Sparkle Baby' palette. I call this my 'fairy' palette, as whenever I use it, I feel so fairy-like, and much like I want to sit on a toadstool and wave my magic wand. Not a single shade in this palette isn't perfect. From 'Hotsy Totsy' the beautiful dark pink shade (perfect for building up colour in the crease) to 'Candy Crush' the absolutely stunning icy blue, 'Elsa' shade - the whole palette just creates such a pretty and feminine eye look. As soon as I got this, I was literally head-over-heels for it. If i had to recommend one Sugarpill product to you, it would without a doubt be this little baby!

Swatches-

L-R; 'Burning Heart' Buttercupcake, Flamepoint, Love +, Poison Plum. 'Sweetheart' Dollipop, Midori, Afterparty, Tako.

L-R; 'Cold Chemistry' Soot and Stars, Subterranean, Elemental Chaos, Diamond Eyes. 'Sparkle Baby' Kitten Parade, Frostine, Candy Crush, Hotsy Totsy.  Limited Edition @#$%!

SO there you have my (kind of) teeny collection from Sugarpill Cosmetics, and a little about what I think of them! You should totally go out and purchase some of these now, you won't be disappointed. Buying these was probably one of the best things I ever did. I have no regrets whatsoever, I just can't wait for them to release more!

Thank you so much for reading my post, and also for all of the support on my instagram and facebook. You guys are incredible, and I can't thank you enough.

See you soon!

Lots of Love and Sparkles,
Yasmin xx
